For The Weekenders: Rhodes to Greece, Absinthe Gummy Bears, Vinho Fuelled Polo in Argentina…

Hope everyone recovered fully from last week’s St. Patrick’s Day.

You’ll need to if you really want to be in top form for the things suggested in this week’s For The Weekenders.

Let’s start.

For The Weekenders: Rhodes to Greece, Absinthe Gummy Bears, Vinho Fuelled Polo in Argentina…

There’s so many things to do in this life it’s a wonder why people ever say they’re bored.

Even though the weather’s been pretty crappy and cold in a lot of different areas, there’s always a sun behind the clouds and warmth beyond the cold.

Like in Greece.

Ahh, Greece…despite what the EU may say about it financially, it’s one of those places that you just have to love.

Which begs the question – who’s more rich – the country with the most financial stability, or the country who’s environment nourishes your heart and soul?

I’d say both.

Why can’t we just have both in one place?

Or more accurately…can’t, or won’t?

Whichever way you want to answer that question, in the end all roads lead to Greece – Rhodes, Greece, that is (see what I did there?).

So here’s what you’ll do. Say you’re taking a personal day…which is really a week, and charter a flight to Rhodes Airport. Don’t worry about packing too much here – just comfy clothes (linen? Maybe a nice light chambray weave?), and other bare essentials.

Check-in to Casa Cook Rhodes, and be escorted to your suite with private pool and terrace that you booked prior to arrival.

I seriously hope you brought someone along with you.

Complete with outdoor rain shower, premium quality mattresses (*wink*), a minibar, and an indoor whirlpool, you’ll find it easy to melt the jet lag away so you can enjoy your stay to the fullest extent humanly possible.

I recommend having a hot shower then going for a quick soak, before refuelling after a (not really at all that gruelling) flight over.

If you can get your play date to join you then hey, the more the merrier.

You’ll probably want to rest up for what lies in store – there’s a lot to do in Rhodes.

Or, if you’re feeling adventurous and athletic, play the night away – just remember to be ready in the morning.

“For what“, you ask?

A full day of sailing…duh.

Well, technically sailing…but mostly lounging, for you.

You’ll have a wonderful little skipper who’ll steer you through various bays and springs, while you lounge on the deck absorbing some seriously glorious sun waves, sipping something cool and refreshing, before convincing your play date to go for a swim, as naturally, while staying dry is great and all, things are much more fun in the water.

After an exhausting day of…relaxing, treat yourself to some locally sourced dinner.

I’m thinking maybe Feta Lagoridani with a salad to start, a mixed grill platter to share for 2, and some Kataifi for dessert…naturally, polished off with an Espresso Highball.

You’ll need a couple of hours to digest all that food you stuffed your smug face with, so feel free to lounge on your terrace, before slipping into the pool for a late night swim with someone sexy.

I recommend sharing a carafe of Pathos, consisting of Metaxa Greek Spirit, Greek dry red wine, some seasonal fruit and traditional botanicals.

A private pool is important.

You want it private.

Why? (Are you really that dense?)

Without sugar coating it…so you can have some private time, of course – without some old retired lady exclaiming, praying for you, then proceeding to throw holy water at you and your special someone.

Nobody likes holy water thrown at them.

Besides being mildly cold (the temperature, not the act), it’s also just like…really inconvenient.

Plus, it kills the buzz from those absinthe gummy bears you made with the silicon mold and absinthe you brought along, in addition to all those “essential items” you stepped out to go shopping for when you touched down.

Wait – you didn’t do that?

You’ve never HAD those?

Jesus Christ…where have you been living? The great depression?

(the 1920’s one – not the 2008 one.)

Well, let’s fix that…for starters, you don’t have to buy them anywhere – plus, they’re not really that easy to buy.

So here’s how to make your own.

You’re welcome.

Absinthe isn’t something that just has to be enjoyed via a cocktail.

If childhood favorites, and adult indulgences had a baby, it would be this exact gummy bear treat.

You’ll need a few things, but nothing that’s too much of a hassle to acquire:

  • 1 Cup of Water
  • .5 Cup of Absinthe
    • A quality one.
  • .25 Cup of Sugar
  • 1 Vitamin B2 Tab
  • Food Coloring (Green)
  • Silicon mold to make all this stuff into actual gummy bears

Take your water and pour it into a saucepan with no heat under it.

Now dust your gelatin into there.

You’ll have to be a little patient, allowing for your gelatin to bloom for about 10 minutes. Only after that, do you want to put some medium heat under it.

While you’re waiting for that to reach a boil, now would be a good time to take that Vitamin B2 tab I told you about and crush it into a powder.

Once you’re done with that, grab your sugar and food coloring, and dust them slowly into the mixture in your saucepan, letting it simmer until the sugar dissolves completely.

Take your saucepan off the heat, then go ahead and add your powdered B2 and absinthe. Stir everything up until it’s all mixed well and the B2 has dissolved completely.

Now for the fun part.

Take your silicon molds and get everything in there. Toss them in the fridge and be patient – considering the sheer amount of gelatin you used, they won’t take long to set.

Fair warning – these gummy bears may provide a hallucinogenic affect.

Just a tad.

(Unless that is, you’re that much of an asshole one actually flips you the bird.)

So don’t go overboard with them, and definitely don’t eat the whole batch. Everything in moderation.

Nonetheless, they’re a great treat to share with your play date when you’re outside lounging in the pool and listening to some choice music.

…and by choice music I mean this.

Not Katy Perry. Not for this mood (sorry, Katy).

If you’re tired of lounging and are up for getting into something a little more adventurous, it’s probably time to kiss Greece goodbye and head Southwest.

As in, Argentina.

If you’re more of the athletic type, then naturally you’ll want a full day of Polo in Argentina.

Not as adventurous as elephant Polo in India, but still just as fun.

Still athletic but never played polo?

No problem – Argentina Polo Day has intensive Polo lessons for you that’ll bring you up to speed in no time.

First thing’s first. Charter a flight to Buenos Aires Ezeiza International Airport, then get the guys at Argentina Polo Day to arrange transport to get you to this Polo paradise.

It’d probably be a good idea to bring some friends or family along with you, as Polo’s a team sport.

You’ll have some pretty cushy accommodation waiting, in addition to other activities in case you don’t just feel like playing Polo during your entire stay.

You should be flinching – the future is now old man, step aside.

Like watching the pros play the game for you. At night.

Or maybe some tango lessons to impress that person you’ve been seeing for a while now.

If you really feel like spreading your wings a little and taking in the sights, I’d opt for a bird’s eye view with a heli-tour.

Whatever you want to do these guys will do their best to accommodate (just don’t go overboard – they won’t be your therapist for that divorce you’re going through).

You may be a little nervous the first time around. Maybe you’re the shy type, and feel a little awkward when trying something new.

Especially if you’ve got someone you (feel you) have to impress.

Don’t sweat it – Argentina is known for serving up some great liquid courage, so a little vinho (that’s wine), might help before the official match.

I cannot, however, guarantee what the effects of said wine will be like during your match, though.

Either way, that counts as an energy drink, right?

Musings: Quote Wednesdays…

Not much to say here.

Just a little mid-week food for thought.

Like I mentioned in this week’s episodic musing, giving back doesn’t just have to be in one form.

It doesn’t always have to be money.

Just going about your day and being a decent person, making sure you’re not letting your ego disrupt anyone else’s life, “staying in your lane,” so to speak, when it comes to other people’s earnest plans and ambitions, unless you have something good to contribute…can all be ways of giving back.

The world needs a lot of good – not a little – a lot. Do your part.

Hope everyone’s having a great week.

Musings Episode 86: Give Back…

Hope everyone’s having a great weekend.

Let’s just get started.

People Are Paying To See Me You've Got To Give Something Back Anthony Joshua, give back quotes, Rego's Life quotes, Rego's Life, Anthony Joshua quotes, Anthony Joshua, Musings Episode 86 Give Back, Rego's Life Musings Episode 86 Give Back, Musings Episode 86 Give Back Rego's Life, Rego's Life, give back, how to give back, entrepreneur, episodic musings, episodic musings of a quintessential entrepreneur, weekend, work life balance, success, life, employee, employer, job, selfish, collaboration, cooperation, the philadelphia story, give value, value, real talk, worth, truth, give back quotes, value quotes, rego's life quotes

This week’s had me thinking about some things…

Last week, I wrote about ego.

This week, I wanted to expand on that but change the tempo a little.

I managed to watch The Philadelphia Story over the weekend. A favourite of mine but something I haven’t seen in a while…and something hit me.

We live in a world where a lot’s going on right now.

Not to say that every generation hasn’t – but let’s stop sugar coating – humans on autopilot have a habit of continually reaching all time lows before redeeming themselves by remembering to be “human” again.

Generally, it’s a few shitty people that make things worse for the less shitty ones.

We’ve got the shitty ones trying to shift things right now.

When it comes to this thing called life and living it, our chosen currency is a bunch of IOUs – fiat currency.

Everyone works for it, whether you’re working for someone or having someone work for you.

Entrepreneurs put in work early so they don’t have to later, or work outside of work while still being employed.

People who work as employees that don’t choose the route of an entrepreneur put in a lot of hours to build an entrepreneur’s dream.

To the entrepreneurs reading this, let that last one sink in for a minute.

If you’ve got employees working for you, who believe in you, who give value in their work and don’t shirk their responsibilities, who don’t mind building your dream, and are perfectly content with just collecting a cheque every couple of weeks or every month, it’s important to remember that they, too, have lives.

While some may not have the balls to learn to say “no,” don’t be a douchebag and work them around the clock.

Like I mentioned in an earlier post, employees are a flock of sheep, while entrepreneurs are wolves.

Both the wolf and the sheep rely on being fed, albeit in two different ways.

But entrepreneurs whose entrepreneurial pursuits require employees on a large structured scale (like a company)…well they kind of turn into shepherds.

If you’ve got employees, or a business that isn’t automated or built off royalties, you can be one of two types of shepherds.

The one that looks at their sheep like they’re there to sustain you – by providing wool, milk, and cheese.

Or you can just look at them like they’re dispensable and ready to be slaughtered at any given time for meat.

The latter way of thinking will feed you, but only for a brief period.

While the former will feed you, clothe you, and take care of you long-term – contingent on the fact you take care of them, assuring no harm comes to them that’s not self-inflicted.

You can see where I’m going with this.

If you’re going to be an entrepreneur, don’t be a dick.

Remember to give back, while building your dream.

Because ultimately, it’s your employees that help sustain you.

If you’re an entrepreneur without employees, still remember to give back to your customers/consumers, while building your dream.

Don’t always look for people to buy what you’re selling, but remember to throw in some freebies that provide value, here and there, on a consistent basis.

I think this is important.

While I’m not religious, I will say this is kind of like a sort of tithe – not to a church, but to the people who are taking the time out to take interest in what you have to say, do, sell.

This is especially true just starting out, but also important to remember to continue when you reach the success you want.

Don’t just run around asking people to pay attention to what you have going on – take interest in them too.

Social media is ironically not very social anymore.

You’ve got more businesses running around liking other businesses’ stuff just to try to promote their own products.

It’s one of the reasons why I made my social media accounts private for some time.

It gets boring having people write asking you to promote their brand – with no consideration of reciprocation or perhaps actually liking what it is you’re doing.

The world needs more collaboration – not favour asking.

Collaboration unlocks the potential to lead to genuine engagement – not forced.

This is especially the case when it comes to business to business, but even more so when it comes to employers with their employees.

Collaborate with your employees, especially with the ones who really show good work ethic – make sure their needs are being met just as much as yours. Make sure you’re giving them work-life balance.

And when I say work ethic, I don’t mean the ones that are constantly staying at the office late or there early – that’s not work ethic, that’s just putting their life into the company.

Stop the bad habit by disallowing them to do this.

And don’t think you can compensate them by making your office more “fun”.

Outside of work they have lives too – remind them of it.

This culture of busyness has everything all screwed up.

It used to be a sign of wealth when people had time to live their lives – now it seems like he who has the least time is most successful – don’t kid yourself.

You’re robbing yourself of life when you do this if you’re an employee, and you’re robbing your employees of their lives when you make them do this if you’re an employer.

Employees have to start recognising their value, and employers have to start respecting that value.

One more important thing.

If you’re an entrepreneur and you see you have employees who are entrepreneurial minded like yourself, don’t covet them; don’t hold them back; don’t refuse to hire them; and don’t fire them, if you see that one day they’ll leave your company.

As long as a currency system exists, everyone needs money.

Give them a chance to build their life, the way they want to, just as someone gave you a chance.

And when someone’s ready to leave your employment, let them, without malice or hatred – in the words of Enchiridion, we own nothing – and especially no one – in this world.

Appreciate the value they’ve provided you, then when they feel it’s their time to grow as a person, let them, and wish them well when they move on.

Give back.

Give back to your customers, your employees, your business partners you ask to collaborate with you.

The same can be applied outside the context of business.

Give back – to your friends, your family, the stranger that holds the door open for you, the person that says thanks, and the cashier that smiles and says hello when you go for groceries.

Don’t let your ego take over.

Give back by not being a dick – give back by being a decent human being.

As always…

Stay awesome.

Musings: Quote Wednesdays…

Just a little mid-week inspiration.

While I mentioned in this week’s episodic musing about just going for it, you’ve also got to realize if along the road you make a mistake, it’s smart to improvise if it’s the right or practical thing to do.

Don’t let your ego get the best of you and be stubborn. If you’re working towards something, you won’t do everything perfectly. Admit the mistake, suck it up, and move on.

You only fail if you don’t learn lessons from your mistakes.

Hope everyone’s having a great week.

Musings Episode 83: Guts Over Fear…

Well, happy new year (…add exclamation mark here).

I’ve been away for a while working on some things but I’m hoping everyone had a good Christmas and their new year was off to more than a good start.

I also hope everyone didn’t make any new year’s resolutions.

Why?

Good question…

Musings Episode 83: Guts Over Fear…

Creating problems is easy We do it all the time Finding solutions ones that last and produce good results requires guts and care Henry Rollins, Henry Rollins quotes, rego's life quotes, guts over fear quotes, Rego's Life, Henry Rollins, Musings Episode 83 Guts over Fear, Rego's Life, Rego's Life Musings Episode 83 Guts over Fear, Musings Episode 83 Guts over Fear Rego's Life, Guts Over Fear, Rego's Life Musings Episode 83, Musings, episodic musings of a quintessential entrepreneur, quintessential entrepreneur, just do it, overcome fear, how to overcome fear, fearless, have some guts, guts over fear eminem, eminem, guts over fear, life, neffex, neffex nightmare, guts over fear quotes

For the past few weeks now while picking up my daily necessities, I’ve had to endure the cringiness of various store marketing ads blaring over their speakers talk of new year’s resolutions and “getting fit” – while eloquently lacing in why you need that new yoga mat.

New Year’s resolutions are really just excuses to not actually apply yourself to anything.

They’re the unsaid safety net of “new year, new you” and if you don’t get it done then hey, that’s okay champ, at least you tried. Maybe next year, eh?

Not.

If you’re going to do something in life…just fucking do it.

You guys have been reading my blog for quite some time now.

You get the general trend of what I sound off on.

Dreams only come true if they’re goals with a deadline. Mediocrity shouldn’t be the intended destiny for the human race. If you’re going to live a little do it up big and enjoy.

I’ve been beating the same drum for a while now, with no intention to stop – because it needs to be said.

The victim mentality, like a subtle, slow bacteria sometimes feels like it’s spreading across society, with so many ridiculous contradictions.

You “can’t make time out of your daily work life to do something for yourself that’ll help you grow as a person because you’re always so busy”?

That’s okay, you’re working hard to build someone else’s dream – it’s totally cool, I get it.

Keep binge watching that Netflix after work.

It’ll take the edge off.

I’m not saying that relaxing is a bad thing – but they say these days, your average person spends 4 hours looking at screens – that’s *outside* of work.

That’s a lot of screen time. Half a workday to be precise. You could do a lot with that time. So why aren’t you?

Look, everyone, and I do mean everyone, has at some point in their life had a dream. Most have also encountered an obstacle.

The biggest obstacle I find people wrestle with is fear. The fear of starting. The fear of starting only to fail. The fear of starting, succeeding, and then having things crumble.

I’m not faultless – this includes me.

But like a fear of a big, scary new workout plan (or big, scary new place you’re moving to), ultimately it’s a fear that it’d be better to deal with than shove under the rug.

Do what you fear – don’t fear what you do.

You’ve gotta have guts over fear. Ever seen the music video of Eminem‘s song “Guts Over Fear”?

I’m not a huge fan of his music, but that music video is a perfect depiction of guts over fear.

I know when it comes to starting anything new there’s the headache and questions of “How am I going to get it done? When am I going to get it done? Can I GET it done?”

But nothing will ever get done if you don’t apply yourself to it – and applying yourself isn’t enough.

Once the motivation is gone, that’s when you have to keep pushing through.

It’s fairly ironic how some people don’t grasp this concept.

They’ll start a new job (motivation), work that job, some days dislike that job (motivation lost), then keep going to that job even when they’re no longer motivated.

…but then won’t maintain that same course of tenacity when it comes to enhancing something they want to do for themselves that’ll help them grow outside of that exact same job.

“But I need MONEY!”

Bro – I know.

But you’ve gotta flex that muscle.

I’m not just preaching here – I apply my own sermon.

As someone who at one point in life was holding down 3 jobs, hitting the gym, and growing as an entrepreneur – I. KNOW.

It can be scary as fuck sometimes.

Sometimes you’ll be happy.

Sometimes you’ll be mad.

But you’ve gotta hold it down and just keep going.

This is for the dreamers that dream while they’re awake rather than asleep.

If you haven’t started, start.

If you’ve started, don’t stop.

If you’ve reached where you want to be and want to innovate more, stay your course and go for it.

All the way, guts over fear – but just fucking do it.

Since I’ve been into discovering new music a lot lately, here’s one song that’s appropriate for this post by Neffex – enjoy.

As always…

Stay awesome.

Musings: Quote Wednesdays…

Your competition is not other people but the time you kill the ill will you create the knowledge you neglect to learn the connections you fail to build the health you sacrifice along the path your inability to generate ideas the people around you who don't support and love your efforts and whatever god you curse for your bad luck James Altucher, Rego's Life quotes, James Altucher quotes, James Altucher, competition quotes, Quote Wednesdays, Rego's Life Quote Wednesdays, Quote Wednesdays Rego's Life, happy humpday, willpower, Rego's Life, competition, you vs you, me vs me, the only competition is yourself, competitive, life, millenials, succcess, drive, comfort zones, self-confidence, how to beat the competition, how to win, win, how to win at life, karma, competition quote, university, work, motivational, inspirational, how to live life, how to live life to the fullest, ignore the haters, believe in yourself
Like I mentioned in this week’s episodic musing, your competition is not other people. There is no such thing as competition – it’s about being a better version of yourself than you were yesterday.

It’s about being around people that are good for YOU – not just the other way around. It’s about remembering that there is no such thing as lack – but there is such a thing as a lack of people cooperating with each other more and more these days – the latter being something that people will still try and manipulate for their own benefit.

Don’t let you stop you – let alone someone else stop you. But more importantly, if you see someone trying to contribute something to the world, trying to better themselves, without stepping on other people’s toes or crushing another person’s throat – don’t pull them down.

It’s a two-way street…

Hope everyone’s having a great week.

As always…

Stay awesome.

Musings Episode 80: Competition…

Since I talked about the pros and cons of comfort zones in the last episodic musing, I figure it’d only be right to have an appropriate follow up. This one’s for the millenials. Hell, this one’s for everyone. Let’s get started.

Musings Episode 80: Competition…

The biggest competition is myself I am not looking to follow others or pull them down I'm planning to test my own boundaries Rain, Rego's Life quotes, Bi Rain quotes, Rain quotes, Bi Rain, competition quotes, Musings Episode 80 Competition, Rego's Life Musings Episode 80 Competition, Musings Episode 80 Competition Rego's Life, Rego's Life, competition, you vs you, me vs me, the only competition is yourself, competitive, life, millenials, succcess, drive, comfort zones, self-confidence, how to beat the competition, how to win, win, how to win at life, karma, competition quote, university, work, motivational, inspirational, how to live life, how to live life to the fullest, ignore the haters, believe in yourself

So, last episodic musing you figured out there are some pros to comfort zones…along with understanding how to harness them during transitions you may have going on in other aspects of your life.

But there’s something else you’ve got to think about – competition – and I don’t mean in the conventional sense.

In other words, technically, no one is your competition.

No one.

The only person you’re ever really in competition with is yourself.

“Standing on the shoulders of giants; climbing the corporate ladder,” these cliche sayings are unnecessary.

It’s unnecessary to step on other people’s toes in order to get ahead – or their shoulders for that matter.

There are people that exist that may tell you there’s not enough caviar to go around – that there’s not enough pie to share and you’ve got to focus on grabbing your piece before anyone else – but it’s just not true.

What society has been feeding people is a message of lack.

Lack fuels panic.

Lack fuels stress.

Lack fuels anxiety.

Lack fuels BAD selfishness (there is such a thing as good selfishness).

There is no such thing as lack.

Nature is based on harmony So it says if we want to survive and become more like nature then we actually have to understand that it's cooperation versus competition Bruce Lipton, Rego's Life quotes, Bruce Lipton quotes, Bruce Lipton, competition quotes, Musings Episode 80 Competition, Rego's Life Musings Episode 80 Competition, Musings Episode 80 Competition Rego's Life, Rego's Life, competition, you vs you, me vs me, the only competition is yourself, competitive, life, millenials, succcess, drive, comfort zones, self-confidence, how to beat the competition, how to win, win, how to win at life, karma, competition quote, university, work, motivational, inspirational, how to live life, how to live life to the fullest, ignore the haters, believe in yourself
There are such things, as assholes though. Selfish, greedy, assholes, that often like to take shortcuts. The quick success. The quick buck. The quick fuck. The flash car. The fancy title. The big house. Quick quick quick. Instant gratification, at the sacrifice of others.

There’s no such thing as sacrifice.

Sacrifice seems to be built up these days as a glorious thing to do – but essentially when you strip it down, it’s two things: either giving up something you already love for something else you love, or feeling you have to crush others to get where you want to go.

It’s a joke…and it doesn’t have to be so.

There is more corruption and greed laced into corporations and organisations today than there was almost 30 years ago, and I think this is being bred primarily from this “lack” thought process.

This all ties in with competition.

People have been led to believe the guy next to them in an interview room is their competition.

But really, it’s not about competing with anybody – not even yourself.

It’s about building a better version of YOU.

Constantly working on being yourself, improving yourself, becoming a better person than you were yesterday.

When you focus on this, you end up being too busy to look at what other people are doing.

You develop tunnel vision. You seek your own finish line – rather than trying to race someone to theirs.

You end up becoming such a fantastic version of yourself, you don’t worry about the guy next to you, because you know you have something to bring to the table that’s unique to YOU.

Forget about being a carbon copy.

You know you have something to contribute to the world.

You know you have something that you can leave your mark with.

You know YOU – something that when the last company falls, and the last pound, euro, or dollar is spent, no one can take away from you – the art of self-improvement.

It's not really about the competition Your biggest challenge in a race is yourself You're often racing against time You're frequently running everything through your mind You're always competing against preconceived ideas It's not really the person next to you that you worry about Summer Sanders, Rego's Life quotes, Summer Sanders quotes, Summer Sanders, competition quotes, Musings Episode 80 Competition, Rego's Life Musings Episode 80 Competition, Musings Episode 80 Competition Rego's Life, Rego's Life, competition, you vs you, me vs me, the only competition is yourself, competitive, life, millenials, succcess, drive, comfort zones, self-confidence, how to beat the competition, how to win, win, how to win at life, karma, competition quote, university, work, motivational, inspirational, how to live life, how to live life to the fullest, ignore the haters, believe in yourself
The other main thing to remember is, is that this is the single most important thing to remind yourself of everyday.

Because there are people out there who will try and tell you that you’re no good. That someone’s better than you. Hell, there are people that will try and tell you that you’re overqualified, and credit that as a logical reason for still not giving you what you want.

What you have to understand is, is that their opinion has nothing to do with you.

Because the same way you’ve been taught that there is lack, that there is competition, they may very well be approaching you with the same thought process.

But all that matters is what you want to do with your own life.

They do not have the right to tell you what to do with your life.

This is largely why I think unemployment is becoming greater.

That mindset, that lacking, competitive, insecure, fearful, selfish mindset has the potential (and often does) to bleed into people’s professional lives, the potential to create a loop.

Recruiters ego’s become enlarged, the power they’ve been given can make them feel like gods, determining someone’s short or long-term financial future at the click of a button.

The lack is false – it’s simply misplaced power with zero social responsibility.

The surging increase in idiocy, of this thing called “human resources” is insane. Do not heed to it.

Competition has been shown to be useful up to a certain point and no further but cooperation which is the thing we must strive for today begins where competition leaves off Franklin D Roosevelt, Rego's Life quotes, Franklin D Roosevelt quotes, Franklin D Roosevelt, competition quotes, Musings Episode 80 Competition, Rego's Life Musings Episode 80 Competition, Musings Episode 80 Competition Rego's Life, Rego's Life, competition, you vs you, me vs me, the only competition is yourself, competitive, life, millenials, succcess, drive, comfort zones, self-confidence, how to beat the competition, how to win, win, how to win at life, karma, competition quote, university, work, motivational, inspirational, how to live life, how to live life to the fullest, ignore the haters, believe in yourself
The only person to compete against, the only person to improve, is yesterday’s version of yourself. Other people are only a reference point – and if you’re going to have a reference point, let it be someone positive – someone successful, someone REAL.

But at the end of the day, if you’re putting in the work, you’ll know where you rank – and if you’re not putting in the work, you’ll know that too. The guilt of not making a better version of yourself will eat at your gut – your instincts will nag at you.

Work on yourself, work on what you love to do, then take a break. Analyse your progress. Change your angle if need be. Maintain this balance. Then do it all again.

But remember – there is no such thing, as competition.

There is only you, and how good you want to be at something.

Think about it.

As always…

Stay awesome.
