Musings: Quote Wednesdays…

I thought this was really appropriate for this week considering the last episodic musing I wrote. It ties in with my reference I made about you only knowing yourself if you deserve something, and how something as simple (but complex) as nature allows you to reap the harvest you put your blood, sweat, and tears into; whereas when putting your all into something in “civilisation” people will try and get in your way.
The great thing about the gym is you see your effort put into what you do, in it’s most raw form; there are no smoke screens, no falseness, no bull. Your progress is marked by your PRs, the burn after every rep, and the DOMS that sometimes hits you like a brick wall the next day. You learn about yourself in the most intimate way.
I hope everyone’s having a great week. This quote was from an essay Henry Rollins did, “The Iron and The Soul“. I highly recommend giving it a read – it doesn’t matter if you workout or not – maybe it’ll inspire you to start.
As always…
Stay awesome.
