“The least movement…

Musings: Quote Wednesdays…

“The least movement is of importance to all nature. The entire ocean is affected by a pebble.” – Blaise Pascal

Pretty much ties in with my most recent post, “Musings Episode 18: Appreciation“….everything, affects everything – so appreciate more and watch things change. Watch your thinking change. Watch yourself change. If we think like this, on a micro level – humans will begin to act a lot differently.

Stay thoughtful.

“The best way….

Musings: Quote Wednesdays…

“The best way out is always through.” – Robert Frost

Touching a little bit on last week’s quote, this week’s runs along the same line. Sometimes, the best way to deal with things, instead of going around them by avoiding them – is just facing them head on – but always, always, think smart, and not hard. 😉

Happy Wednesday.

“An essential aspect of…

Musings: Quote Wednesdays…

“An essential aspect of creativity is not being afraid to fail” – Edwin Land

Sorry this one came in late! But it says all it needs to say…bottom line is, never be afraid. Try as hard as you can not to be….fear is immobility, and immobility is procrastination. If you really, really, want something, you have to go out there and get it – without hesitation. Hesitation stems from fear and uncertainty. While it may be beneficial at times, most often it’s just an illusion that has been taught to us as we progressed through life and grew out of childhood.

Really, when you think about it – the younger we are, the less likely to be fearful we are…think of all the what-you-would-now-consider-crazy things you’ve done in your youth – did you really ever regret them…? More than likely, they taught you something. They made you better at something…and they made you realize you could do more than you originally thought you would – merely by overriding fear, and pushing through.

Persistence pays.

“Music is the…

Musings: Quote Wednesdays…

“Music is the shorthand of emotion.” – Leo Tolstoy

For when sometimes words aren’t enough, or too much…the right song can say everything it needs to. The only international language – besides money and math – that can calm your thoughts and silence the noise of everyday life.

Like writing, what you put into it is what you get out of it. To all you musicians and artists out there – I just wanna say thanks, for expressing yourselves – thus letting me and everyone else express ourselves. Keep at it. You’re appreciated more than you think.

Happy Wednesday.

“The difference between…

Musings: Quote Wednesdays…

“The difference between a successful person and others is not a lack of strength, not a lack of knowledge, but rather a lack of will.” – Vince Lombardi

Like I always say, it doesn’t matter how slowly you go, as long as you don’t stop. From exercise to monetary success, it’s a daily thing. Keep that will power up, keep making that effort, and always strive for the concept of Kaizen – consistent, incremental improvement. Even when we’re born – we learn to walk with a full stride from taking baby steps.

Happy Wednesday.

“A successful man…

Musings: Quote Wednesdays…

“A successful man is one who can lay a firm foundation with the bricks others have thrown at him.” – David Brinkley

No matter how much bull crap or negative stuff people throw your way, always push to flip it to your advantage.

I know sometimes in life we’re thrown curve balls, told we’re too old to do this, too young to do that, what’s the sense in doing this, no one’s ever been able to do that – but as long as you instead use those things that are said and flip them into fuel for pure motivation, like a stash of double NOS tanks under the passenger’s seat or in the back of your car, you can use that fuel like an extra boost, giving you that much more of a reason to prove all those nay-sayers wrong.

Nothing’s impossible. Stay motivated.

Happy Wednesday.

“Always be yourself…

Musings: Quote Wednesdays…

“Always be yourself, express yourself, have faith in yourself, do not go out and look for a successful personality and duplicate it.” – Bruce Lee

It’s not what other say you should be – it’s what you think you are. It’s not how others say you should act – it’s what you choose to express. It’s not what other say you can or can’t do – it’s what you yourself believe you can do…and it’s not who others say you should be. It’s who you want to be.

No matter what, although there are models and successful figures you may admire, it’s still about carving your own path, making your own distinct name, and writing your own version of history – by making it if you so choose.

Happy Wednesday.

“The greatest way…

Musings: Quote Wednesdays…

“The greatest way to live with honor in this world is to be what we pretend to be.” – Socrates

Pretty much speaks for itself. If you’re going to act it, do it. There are different ways to break your word, different ways to build, and destroy, your reputation, and different ways to show your character. Always make sure you strive to be the best in your attitude, your beliefs, and your ways you go about doing things. That, is one of the most essential, key things for success in business, and personal life.

Otherwise you’ll just be labeled as being full of shit. No one wants that.

Happy Wednesday.

“When you are…

Musings: Quote Wednesdays…

“When you are through changing, you are through.” – Bruce Barton

The minute you stop moving forward – that’s it. Change is a must, everything evolves…there’s no stopping it. A blade of grass accepts this, and effortlessly continues to grow. Like I always say – it doesn’t matter how slowly you go, as long as you keep moving.

Stay Awesome.

“If a man achie…

Musings: Quote Wednesdays…

“If a man achieves victory over this body, who in the world can exercise power over him? He who rules himself rules over the whole world.” – Vinoba Bhave

I saw this and it really hit home, especially doing business in the health industry. Fitness is more than just a goal – it’s a lifestyle. It alters your thinking, balances your hormones, teaches self-discipline, reduces stress, heightens awareness and increases stamina, and makes you feel like…well, a rock star.  Less of the alcoholic-druggy type, more of the I can do anything type. Twice a week, three times a week, five times a week. A little effort produces a lot of results.

Stay healthy.
